Iran’s Health Ministry Announces Special Measures for Nowruz Holidays


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi announced on Monday that his ministry will deploy 15 choppers and 4270 ambulances as part of its special measures during the new Persian year holidays, starting from March 21st.

The Ministry of Health will mobilize 15 helicopters, 4270 ambulances, 57 ambulance buses, and 2 marine ambulances in its special plan for Nowruz holidays, Qazizadeh stated, addressing a major exercise held in preparation for the upcoming holidays.

He further said that 2119 medical aid stations and 570 hospitals have been prepared to serve Iranian passengers during the holidays.

The new Iranian year of 1394 will begin on Saturday, March 21, with people of Iran and a whole host of other nations celebrating the ancient festivities of Nowruz.

From time immemorial, Iranians from all walks of life have enthusiastically celebrated the Nowruz, irrespective of their age, language, gender, race, ethnicity, or social status.

The word Nowruz itself literally means "new day" in Persian and the festivity marks the beginning of the new solar year.
