Iran Smashes Terrorist Cell in Southeastern Province

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Force disbanded a terrorist cell in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan on Monday morning, the Quds Base of the IRGC Ground Force announced.

A terrorist cell affiliated with foreign espionage services was disbanded on Monday morning in Qasr-e Qand and Nikshahr counties southeast of Iran in a decisive operation by IRGC forces, a statement released by the Quds Force’s public relations department said on Monday.

The operation was carried out after a series of reconnaissance and chasing operations in recent days, the statement said, adding that all members of the team were killed and a significant amount of weapons, ammunition and communication equipment were confiscated.

Earlier in February, Iran’s intelligence ministry had announced that it has disbanded another terrorist cell in Sistan and Balouchestan and seized 350 kilograms of explosives.
