Three Big Events ahead of Iran Volleyball, Coach Kovac Says

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team coach Slobodan Kovac said that they will take serious three upcoming big events.

Iran is preparing for the 2015 FIVB Volleyball World League, 2015 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship and FIVB Volleyball World Cup.

Asked Kovac if Iran will consider the FIVB World League as the warm-up competitions for 2016 Olympic qualification, he said, “No, at all. We have three big tournaments ahead of us."

"As the great teams, we will do our best to get the best results in each event. I’ve not seen so far the big teams such as Russia and Brazil participate in a tournament to strengthen themselves for another one,” Kovac said.

“First, we will work hard to get good results in the FIVB World League. Then, we will participate in the 2015 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Tehran. We have to win the title. To participate in the FIVB Volleyball World Cup in Japan and booking a place in the 2016 Olympic Games is our third target,” the Serbian coach added.
