Vienna to Host Iran N. Talks on April 22-23: EU

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Austrian capital of Vienna will host talks between Iran and world powers over Tehran's peaceful nuclear program next week.

According to the European Union, the negotiations will be held on April 22 and April 23.

"A bilateral meeting of EU Political Director Helga Schmid and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will kick off the talks on 22 and 23 April followed by a plenary meeting of all E3/EU+3 Political Directors and Iran," the EU said in a statement, referring to the group consisting of Russia, China, Britain, France, the US and Germany, otherwise known as G5+1 or P5+1, Reuters reported.

Iran and the sextet are in talks to hammer out a lasting accord that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's peaceful nuclear energy program.

On April 2, the two sides reached a framework nuclear agreement after more than a week of intensive negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final deal until the end of June.
