Iranian MPs Laud Yemenis' Resistance against Saudi-Led Aggression
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A number of Iranian lawmakers reiterated their opposition to the continued Saudi-led war on Yemen, saying that the Islamic Republic supports the "oppressed Yemeni people's resistance" against the Saudi regime.
In a statement signed by 210 Iranian parliamentarians on Wednesday, the MPs once again condemned the Saudi regime's 28 days of aggression against Yemen, saying that the Al Saud revealed its true nature by killing innocent Muslim people in the Arab country.
"Definitely, the oppressed nation of Yemen will achieve victory through their resistance and fortitude," the statement read, adding that humiliation and disgrace, whose signs have already emerged, await the Saudi aggressors.
On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
The Saudi-led coalition announced on Tuesday that its military operation "Decisive Storm" has ended.
According to the spokesman of the Yemeni Army, the Saudi-led war on the Arabian Peninsula country killed 2,051 people, most of them civilians.
