In his Saturday message, President Rouhani offered his “sympathy and condolences” to his Nepalese counterpart President Ram Baran Yadav, the people of Nepal, and the survivors of the devastating earthquake.

Earlier, Iran's foreign ministry also expressed sympathy with the Nepalese nation and government over the death of people in a massive earthquake in the Himalayan country.
Rescue crews and residents in Nepal early Sunday began the desperate search for survivors after a magnitude-7.8 quake near the capital of Kathmandu a day earlier flattened homes, buildings and temples, causing widespread damage across the region and killing more than 1,900 people.
