Iraqi President to Visit Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iraq’s President Fouad Massoum plans to pay an official visit to Iran next week.

Massoum will pay a three-day visit to Iran at the invitation of President Hassan Rouhani, media reports said on Tuesday.

Heading a ministerial delegation, the Arab leader will seek to expand political, economic and cultural ties with Iran during his upcoming visit.

In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaeifar, held in Baghdad on Tuesday, Massoum voiced Iraq’s enthusiasm for using Iran’s scientific and technological experiences.

Earlier in January, Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri had reiterated the country’s strong support for Iraq, saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to share its experiences with the Arab country in various areas of science and technology.
