Iran Sweeps Qatar in Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran defeated Qatar in straight sets (25–12, 25–18, 25–18) on Friday in the 2015 Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship.

Iran, who defeated India 3-0 in its opening match in Pool B, will play the Philippines on Saturday.

"All teams are very strong and have an equal chance of winning here. However, we came here with only one target in mind, that is to become a champion," Iran coach Peyman Akbari said.

The 2015 Asian Men's U-23 Volleyball Championship got underway in Naypyidaw, Myanmar from 12 to 20 May 2015.

It is the inaugural edition of the tournament and serves as the Asian qualifier for the 2015 Men's U-23 World Championship to be held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates with the top two teams qualifying for the world championship.
