Iranian Forces Hit Mock Enemy’s Drones Flying over Arak Nuclear Facilities
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian military commander praised the preparedness of the country's air defense units and said the forces have managed to target and destroy several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the mock enemy flying over nuclear facilities.
In a visit to the air defense unit of Arak Heavy Water Production Plant at Khondab in the central province of Markazi, Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili lauded the vigilance and preparedness of the unit's forces.
During the visit, some parts of the air defense unit of Khondab nuclear facility were evaluated by creating unexpected and critical situations.
Using the element of surprise, several mock enemy drones attempted to get close to the area but were detected and destroyed by the radar and missile systems of the air defense unit and its heavy artillery fire.
Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili described the drill as an "operational assessment" of the air defense systems of sensitive and critical areas, saying that the plan was carried out in line with efforts to increase the preparedness of the air defense forces in the face of unexpected threats that might emerge.
