Iran Invites UAE President to Attend Gas Summit in Tehran


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani invited his Emirati counterpart, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), due to be held in November in Tehran.

The invitation was conveyed in a meeting between the Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE deputy prime minister and minister of presidential affairs, and Iranian Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Ali Tayyebnia in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on a whole host of issues, including ways to promote relations between the two neighboring countries in diverse areas, economy in particular.

In his remarks, Sheikh Mansour described Iran-UAE relations as amicable and emphasized the importance of efforts to further boost ties between the two countries.

Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, the UAE Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, and Mohammad Reza Fayyad, Iran's Ambassador to the UAE, were also present at the meeting.
