Parviz Mazloumi Appointed Iran’s Esteghlal Coach

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Parviz Mazloumi has been named as new head coach of Iran's popular Esteghlal football team.

Igor Stimac, former Croatia coach, was supposed to be appointed as Esteghlal coach but the 47-year-old coach did not reach an agreement with Esteghlal in terms of financial matters.

Mazloumi replaced Amir Ghalenoei in the Iranian team.

Esteghlal finished sixth in Iran Professional League (IPL) last season under leadership of Ghalenoei.

Mazloumi, 60, has returned to Esteghlal for his second spell as coach. He had previously been in charge of Esteghlal between 2010 to 2012.
