Azadi Stadium Will Not Scare Us: Poland Captain Kubiak


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Michal Kubiak, the captain of Poland's national volleyball team, said they will not be intimidated by Azadi Stadium in the matches against Iran.

Poland will play Iran in Tehran’s Azadi Hall on Friday and Sunday in Week 7 of the FIVB World League.

“I’ve come here to see Iran. Our goal is winning two matches against Iran to book a place in Brazil in final round,” Kubiak said in the pre-match news conference.

“I’ve heard a lot about Azadi Stadium and now I am here to experience that. The Iranian fans are very enthusiastic and noisy but we are acquainted with these kinds of environment in Poland."

"We are here to win the matches,” he added.

USA leads Pool B with 17 points, while Iran is in third place with 13 points. Poland is second with 16 points and Russia has just two points.
