Fulfilling Commitments Key to Success of Nuclear Conclusion: Iran's President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that the adherence of parties involved in nuclear talks with Tehran to their commitments will be a key factor in the success of the nuclear conclusion reached between the two sides on Tuesday.

In a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday, Rouhani stressed the necessity for all members of the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) to make efforts to implement agreements recently reached with Iran over its peaceful nuclear program.

"We are pleased that we reached a win-win outcome in the negotiations," he said, adding, "It is necessary for all members of the G5+1 to make efforts to implement the next steps of the agreement."

The Iranian president also appreciated the constructive role of Britain during the negotiations, saying the adherence of both parties to their obligations is the most important factor for the success of the executive process of the negotiations.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani pointed to bilateral relations between Tehran and London, saying, "We are after relations based on mutual respect and interests, and I think there exists the necessary potential to rebuild relations between Iran and Britain."

Rouhani also referred to violence perpetrated by ISIL and other terrorist groups in the Middle East as "a pressing and dangerous issue" for the region.

Cameron, for his part, offered his congratulations to Rouhani on the conclusion of the nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1, and thanked the Iranian president for his constructive role during the intensive talks.

On July 14 and after months of diplomatic negotiations, Iran and G5+1 reached a conclusion over the text of the deal that would end more than a decade of impasse over Tehran's nuclear energy program.
