Iran, Turkey Can Reach Win-Win Solution to Regional Issues: Rouhani


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani conferred with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the expansion of Tehran-Ankara cooperation against regional problems, terrorism in particular.

In a Thursday phone conversation with Erdogan, Rouhani congratulated Erdogan on Eid al-Fitr and referring to the recent conclusion of talks over Tehran's nuclear energy program, considered it as effective on the country's ties with its neighbors, particularly Turkey.

In regional affairs, Middle Eastern nations have pinned their hopes on cooperation between Iran and Turkey, the Iranian president stressed, adding, "We can work together to achieve a win-win solution in the region."

He further underscored the growing need for mutual interactions to eradicate terrorism, reiterating that Tehran and Ankara should counter the "destabilizing" threat of terrorism.

Erdogan, for his part, congratulated Rouhani on Eid al-Fitr and the conclusion of nuclear talks, and expressed his country's readiness for regional cooperation with Iran.

He also referred to the development of bilateral ties with Iran, adding that mutual cooperation can deepen Tehran-Ankara ties.
