Germans to Hold "Serious" Economic Talks with Iran in September: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Germany will send a second high-profile economic delegation to Iran in September to begin serious talks on stronger Tehran-Berlin cooperation, a member of Iran's chamber of commerce said.

Speaking to Tasnim on Monday, Mohammad Reza Najafimanesh said the next German economic delegation will travel to Iran in September for serious negotiations on expansion of ties with Iran.

He made the comments after a meeting with a ranking delegation of German industry owners in Tehran.

Led by German Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, the high-ranking delegation of 100 German officials and businessmen arrived in Tehran on Sunday afternoon.

They held separate meetings today with senior Iranian officials, including President Hassan Rouhani.

The visit came days after Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program.

The text of the comprehensive nuclear deal between Iran and the six powers would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.

Experts believe that Iran's economic growth would rise remarkably after the final nuclear deal takes effect.

The comprehensive nuclear deal and subsequent termination of anti-Iran sanctions would also result in a hike in Iran's trade with the world and increase foreign investment in the country.
