Kia Academy Comes 2nd at Norway Cup


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s KIA Academy lost to Emblem IL 4-1 and finished in second place in Norway Cup.

Iran’s Meysam Rezaei was selected as the Most Valuable Player of the Boys U-13s - 7-a-side.

The Norway Cup is an international youth football tournament which has been held annually since 1972 (except 1976) in Oslo, Norway.

It is the world's largest football tournament and sees a typical 1400 to 1700 participating teams per year.

The Norway Cup consists of tournaments for ages 10 through 19 for both genders, with 43,141 teams having participated between 1972 and 2009. The tournament takes place at Ekebergsletta.

Mahdavikia, who is a co-founder of KIA Football Academy, led his U-11 team to 2015 Cordial Cup second place after suffering a 7-6 defeat on penalties against TSV 1860 Munchen in May.
