Iran Invites Italy to Participate in Caspian Sea Oil Projects
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh announced that the country needs Italian companies' participation in development of oil projects underway in Caspian Sea, north of Iran.
Zanganeh told reporters after a meeting with visiting Italian delegation here in Tehran on Wednesday that Iran's oil industry needs cooperation of Italian companies in projects in the Caspian Sea.
The Iranian minister noted that before imposition of anti-Iran sanctions, the two countries cooperated in the development of various phases of the South Pars gas field as well as some southwestern Iranian oil fields, including Darkhoein.
As regards the meeting, Zanganeh said that development of cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical industries has been the main theme of his talks with the Italian delegation headed by the country’s Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni.
The Iranian oil minister added that production of needed equipment for Iranian oil industry was another major topic of his talks with Italian delegation.
The Italian foreign minister, for his part, said Tehran and Rome are set to expand their relations in all economic sectors.
He added Vienna agreement has paved the way for a new era of cooperation to begin between the two countries.
