Iran Raps Israeli Desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman condemned the recent daily attacks by Israeli forces on the highly respected Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palestine, urging immediate reaction of international organizations to Tel Aviv’s illegal moves.
Marziyeh Afkham on Tuesday condemned the Israeli attacks as a brazen insult to the Muslim sanctities.
She also stressed that the decision by the “illegitimate and child-murderer” regime of Israel to divide the mosque compound into sections and create time segments for visiting it is in violation of the international laws.
The spokeswoman further called on all countries and international organizations, particularly the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations, to show immediate reaction to Israel’s illegal moves.
Afkham also voiced Iran’s readiness to join the OIC member states in an emergency meeting to discuss the recent Israeli atrocities and weigh the necessary measures.
On Tuesday, Israeli soldiers stormed into the al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Quds (Jerusalem) for the third consecutive day, attacking and injuring many Palestinian worshippers.
Al Jazeera reported that at least 17 Palestinians have been injured in the clashes early on Tuesday.
The site of the mosque is revered as holy by Muslims and Jews and is a frequent flashpoint of violence.
