Israeli Aircraft Strike Gaza after Alleged Rocket Fire

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel carried out air strikes in the Gaza Strip on Saturday after Israeli military claimed that at least two rockets were fired from Gaza.

The overnight air strikes targeted two training camps belonging to Hamas, causing no injuries, officials and witnesses said.

Late on Friday, Israeli military claimed at least two rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel. One struck a town, damaging a bus but causing no injuries. A second was shot down by a missile defense system.

An extremist group that supports the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group, purportedly claimed responsibility for one of the rockets fired at Israel, Reuters said.

The cross-border violence came as tension remained high in Jerusalem (holy city of al-Quds) and the West Bank, where Israeli security forces have attacked Palestinians over the past week.
