Iran Condemns Escalation of Israeli Cruelty to Palestinians

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman condemned an intensification of the Israeli regime’s aggression against people of Palestine in recent days, calling for serious reaction of the Muslim governments to stop the Israeli atrocities.

Marziyeh Afkham on Sunday lashed out at the Tel Aviv regime for exacerbating the “inhuman crackdown” against Palestinians, the mass arrests and ruthless attacks in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip.

“The recent measures are being taken in addition to the daily threats and pressures on Palestinians, such as power cuts, economic blockade on the sea and land, the Zionist military forces’ attacks on people, raids and destruction of Palestinian homes,” she added.

Afkham also voiced deep concern about the continued Israeli policy of Judaization of al-Quds, and called on the Muslim governments and the international responsible organizations to show serious and immediate reaction to put an end to the Israeli atrocities.

The spokeswoman underlined that the Israeli regime has no rights to occupy the al-Aqsa Mosque compound or divide it into sections and time segments.

Tensions have run high in Palestine in recent weeks following a fresh wave of Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians in the West Bank, in response to what is seen as the Third Intifada.

Since August 26, Israel has imposed restrictions on entries into the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Tel Aviv regime has also intensified attacks against people of Gaza.

On Sunday, a Palestinian woman who was five-months pregnant and her three-year-old daughter were killed in an Israeli airstrike east of Gaza City.

On Saturday, Israeli soldiers shot and killed two Palestinian teenagers in the Gaza Strip during confrontations, less than 24 hours after six people were shot dead while protesting along the border with Israel.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli soldiers killed six Palestinians protesting along the border separating the territory from Israel.
