Iranian Athletes Bag Two Silver Medals at IPC Athletics World Championships


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Sajad Mohammadian and Ali Mohammadyari won two silver medals on day one of the IPC Athletics World Championships on Thursday.

Mohammadian claimed a silver medal in the Men’s Shot Put F42 with a throw of 14.54 in the event underway in Doha, Qatar.

Aled Davies threw a new championship record (14.95) to win Britain’s first gold on day one.

Bronze medal went to Germany’s Frank Tinnemeier with 14.33.

In the Men’s Discus Throw F56, Mohammadyari seized a silver medal with 44.97.

Gold medal went to Leonardo Diaz from Cuba with 45.10 and Vietnamese Hau Nguyen Be won the bronze medal with 38.94.
