Jerry Bengtson Aims to Become Top Scorer in Iran Professional League

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis Honduran striker Jerry Bengtson says that he is going to end the season in Iran as top scorer of the league.

Bengtson, who came off the bench, scored a late equalizer against Esteghlal in Tehran derby on Friday. It was Bengtson’s third goal in Iran Professional League (IPL).

“I am happy to score in derby. I experienced an incredible feeling after the goal.  Esteghlal is a big team but we found the back of the net after their defenders made mistakes in the last seconds of the match,” Bengtson said.

Asked about any plans to become the top scorer in IPL, Bengtson said, “There are so many games ahead of us and we cannot really predict anything but I want to score more goals for Persepolis. I want to become IPL top scorer,” the 28-year-old striker added.
