German Delegation in Iran for Economic Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A high-ranking economic delegation from Germany’s state of Bavaria is visiting Iran to discuss revitalizing trade ties with Tehran in the wake of the recent nuclear deal between the Islamic Republic and six world powers.
Headed by Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology Ilse Aigner, the 130-strong delegation comprises representatives from across a wide range of industrial enterprises mostly those active in the area of the automobile industry and electrical devices, News Sentinel reported on Sunday.
The German business leaders will stay in Iran for five days to sit down with their Iranian counterparts and discuss development of bilateral trade ties.
Iran is an “attractive and profitable” market and Bavaria “has the capacity to increase its exports to Iran", Aigner said in a statement ahead of her trip to Tehran.
She added that the upcoming termination of anti-Iran sanctions following the recent nuclear deal between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany) “could open a new chapter in trade relations between Iran and the southern German state”.
Tehran and the Group 5+1 (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.
The agreement, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), would terminate all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran after coming into force.
October 18 was the so-called “adoption day” for the deal, which came 90 days after the two sides concluded their intensive negotiations in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
The Iranian parliament on October 13 voted to pass the details of a motion to implement the nuclear agreement.
The bill allows the Iranian administration to voluntarily implement its July 14 nuclear agreement with the world powers under certain conditions.
