Saudi Regime Insists on Massacre of Yemenis: Activist

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Yemeni political activist censured Saudi Arabia for its continued onslaughts against the defenseless people of Yemen, saying that Riyadh has undermined the possibility of peaceful resolution of the ongoing crisis in the Arabian Peninsula nation.

Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Hamid Razzaq said no dialogue is currently underway among warring parties in Yemen and the issue is limited only to media statements by the UN special envoy for Yemen, who speaks of talks in Geneva and Oman.

“Such measures are taken only to imply that the UN exists but, in fact, there is no dialogue,” he stated.

The prominent analyst further emphasized that even if there is real dialogue there, Saudis will not allow it to yield results by insisting on military attacks and their blockade of Yemen.

Yemen's defenseless people have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by the Saudi regime for months.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies, including the UAE, began to launch deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemeni health ministry, the death toll from the Saudi-led war so far has reached more than 6,000 people, including 1,277 children and 1,041 women.
