Three Iranian Wrestlers Win Medals at Baku Golden Grand Prix


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Iman Sadeghi, Ehsan Lashgari and Mostafa Hosseinkhani claimed a silver and two bronze medals respectively in the Golden Grand Prix Final in Baku, Azerbaijan on Friday.

In the 61kg, Iman Sadeghi lost to Haji Aliev from Azerbaijan 8-2 in the final match.

Hosseinkhani defeated Turkey's Soner Demirtas 3-2 in the 74kg and won the bronze medal.

Lashgari beat David Taylor from USA 10-0 and claimed a bronze.

The international wrestling Gold Grand-Prix tournament commemorating Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev started in Baku on Friday.

A total of more than 400 wrestlers from 32 countries compete in the Grand Prix.

The wrestlers compete in three categories as freestyle, women's and Greco-Roman events on November 27, 28 and 29 respectively.
