Thai Business Delegation to Visit Tehran Soon

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A high-ranking trade delegation from Thailand is slated to pay a visit to Iran in the near future to explore ways for enhancing economic ties between the two countries.

According to a report carried by The Nation on Friday, Thailand’s Deputy Prime Ministers Pravit Wongsuwan will arrive in Tehran in early February at the head of the delegation for trade talks.

Back in February 2014, the director general of Thailand Ministry of Commerce’s International Trade Development Center headed a delegation to Iran and discussed enhancement of economic ties between the two nations with senior Iranian officials.

Following the visit, Thailand and Iran decided to increase the level of their economic and trade relations to $1.2 billion in three years.

The total volume of mutual trade ties between the two countries stood at $600 million a year in the past, but fell to about $300 million in 2015 on lower oil prices.
