Daesh Has Nothing to Do with Islam: Iran’s Judiciary Chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said Takfiri terrorist groups are motivated by extremist Wahhabi ideologies, stressing that Islam can never give rise to such “garbage” as Daesh (ISIL).
“The driving force behind Takfiri and terrorist groups is the Wahhabi extremist ideologies, which have been created and developed by colonialism,” Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said in a meeting on Monday.
“True Islam, which is based on spirituality, ethics, and divine values, is impossible to give rise to such trash as Daesh,” he stressed.
The Iranian judiciary chief added that such terrorist groups as Daesh are directly and indirectly created and supported by the US
The linkage of colonialism and hegemony with the most underdeveloped communities that know nothing about democracy and real and Islamic governments has led to the creation of extremist ideologies, he added.
Last month, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for the formation of a coalition of Muslim countries in the fight against terrorists sponsored by the US and certain regional states.
“The issue of Daesh and (other) terrorists who have scattered across the region in the name of Islam is not normal and natural,” Ayatollah Khamenei said on November 24, adding that these terrorists have been created and are being supported by certain countries.
Referring to the supports provided by the US and enemies of Islam for these terrorists, the Leader regretted that certain Islamic countries in the region are also supporting the terrorist groups.
Daesh is a militant group in Iraq and Syria believed to be backed by the West and some regional Arab countries. The terrorist group claims as an independent state the territory of Iraq and Syria, with implied future claims intended over more of the Levant, including Lebanon, occupied Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, and Southern Turkey.
