Iran Loses to Bahrain at Asian Handball Championship
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Bahrain at the 17th Asian Handball Championship Thursday night.
Bahrain qualified for next year’s Handball World Championship in France by reaching the tournament’s semifinals.
Iran lost to Bahrain 27-16 in Group B at the Khalifa Sports City.
The group includes Bahrain, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, China and Lebanon.
The win sees Bahrain top the group with eight points from four matches while Saudi Arabia comes in second place with seven points.
The UAE is in third place with five points while Iran sits in fourth place with four points.
Lebanon and China are fifth and sixth with zero points.
Iran lost to Saudi Arabia in its opening match but defeated Lebanon and China.
