Iran Pursuing Win-Win Policy in Economic Ties: Rouhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday stressed that the country’s policy in its trade ties with other countries is of a win-win type, where both sides gain profits as recent termination of anti-Iran sanctions ushers an economic boom for Tehran.

“No country can ask the investors and entrepreneurs of another country to make sacrifice,” the Iranian president said, adding that a “fair profit” is a prerequisite for investments.

In a meeting with Italy’s trade officials and businessmen in Rome, Rouhani noted that economy should bring profits for both sides, and Tehran follows such policy in its emerging economic ties.

Iran will pursue the win-win policy in economy as it did in the recent nuclear negotiations with world powers, which led to the implementation of a nuclear deal more than a week ago, Rouhani reassured.

He further described Iran’s rules and regulations as “reliable”, saying that Tehran has never violated its commitments to the world and other countries’ private sector under any circumstances.

“Iran is the safest and most stable country in the region, has no intention to invade other countries or to interfere in any state’s internal affairs, and protects its territory powerfully,” Rouhani added.

After years of sanctions, Iran has lots of vacancies and capacities for investment, Rouhani said, describing the country’s economy as a “virgin” one.

Rouhani on Monday arrived in the Italian capital as the first destination of his European tour, which will take him to Paris on Wednesday.

The European visits are Rouhani’s first foreign trips after the recent implementation of the nuclear deal (known as JCPOA), which took place on January 16.

Based on the JCPOA, all anti-Iran sanctions were removed and allowed the country’s market to be reopened to foreign investments and prepared the ground for a much-anticipated economic boom.
