High Turnout in Political Events to Guarantee Iran’s Establishment: Judiciary Chief
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani on Thursday praised Iranians’ massive participation in the rallies held across the country on the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, saying that it guarantees the Islamic Establishment.
“As you can see, thank God, the Bahman 22 (February 11) rallies are held each year more magnificently than the previous year,” Amoli Larijani told reporters on the sidelines of the rallies in Tehran on Thursday.
He further emphasized that people’s strong presence in the political scene has its roots in the Islamic nature of the country’s Establishment, which is based on divine and spiritual values.
“…As long as this presence and the grace of God exist, no country or dominant power can act against our Establishment,” the cleric stressed.
Iranian people from different walks of life, carrying flags and banners in support of the Islamic Republic, poured into the streets in their millions on Thursday to hold nationwide rallies marking the 37th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
More than 450 foreign guests from 28 countries, including scientific, political, and influential figures from the European, African, Asian, and American countries have travelled to Iran to witness the event.
Over 5200 cameramen and journalists from Iran and other countries covered the massive rallies.
The crowd of demonstrators in the rallies also paid tribute to the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, under whose leadership the revolutionary movements triumphed over the despotic regime of Pahlavi on February 11, 1979.
Carrying images of Imam Khomeini and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, people in Iran’s cities and towns reaffirmed their allegiance to the causes of the Islamic Revolution.
In capital Tehran, the Azadi (Liberty) Square was swarming with enthusiastic demonstrators who gathered to cherish the memory of the Islamic Revolution victory.
People also chanted anti-US and anti-Israeli slogans during the mass rallies.
