Asian Taekwondo Championships: Iran’s Mirhosseini Takes Bronze


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Melika Mirhosseini claimed a bronze medal in the 2016 Asian Taekwondo Championships on Monday.

She won a bronze medal in the +73kg weight category.

Gold medal went to South Korean An Sae-bom who defeated Tajikistan’s Mokhru Khalimova in the final match.

Shokraneh Izadi was defeated against a rival from China in the women’s -73kg and failed to advance to the next stage.

Pouria Erfanian lost to his South Korean opponent in the men’s -87kg and was eliminated from the competition.

The 2016 Asian Taekwondo Championships are the 22nd edition of the Asian Taekwondo Championships, which kicked off at the Marriott Convention Center Grand Ballroom in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 18.
