Iranian Rower Mahsa Javar Advances to Olympics


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Mahsa Javar from Iran booked a place at the 2016 Olympic Games on Sunday.

She earned his quota place at the 2016 Fisa Asia and Oceania Continental Olympic Qualification Regatta at the Tangeum Lake in Chung-ju, South Korea.

Javar clocked 8min 05.08sec in the semi-final of the 2,000 meters women's single sculls event.

The A final will be contested by six rowers from Iran, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan and Indonesia.

South Korean rower was the fastest qualifier with a time of 7:57.64.
