Syrian Military Denies Targeting Camp Near Turkish Border

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Syrian military denied on Friday that its warplanes had conducted airstrikes targeting a camp for displaced people near the Turkish border.

"There is no truth to reports ... about the Syrian air force targeting a camp for the displaced in the Idlib countryside," it said in a statement Friday carried by state media, Reuters reported.

Media reports on Thursday accused Syrian government of bombing a refugee camp near the Turkish border, in an attack which allegedly left dozens of civilians dead and wounded.

The airstrikes, according to allegations, happened on Thursday afternoon near Sarmada, a town in Idlib province just 20km away from Reyhanli.
