FIVB World League: Iran Loses to Serbia
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national volleyball team lost to host Serbia at the second week of the FIVB World League on Saturday.
The Iranian team, who started the second week with a 3-1 win over Bulgaria and a 3-1 loss to Brazil, was defeated against Serbia 3-1 (19-25, 26-24, 18-25, 21-25).
Uros Kovacevic earned 19 points for Serbia and Shahram Mahmoudi led the Iranian team with 18 points.
Iran will play Serbia on July 1 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in POOL I1 in the third week.
Raul Lozano’s men have been scheduled to face Italy and Argentina on July 2 and July 3 respectively.
Iran sits in ninth place with five points in the table, while Serbia maintains top of the table with 18 points.
