Iran Names Rio 2016 Paralympic Athletic Team

The names of the athletes who will compete for Team Iran in track and field from Sept. 7-18 were announced Tuesday.

The team consists of Hamid Eslami (1500m), Saman Pakbaz (shot put), Javid Ehsani Shakib (shot put), Ali Olfatnia (long jump), Peyman Nasiri (1500m), Siamak Saleh Farajzadeh (shot put), Mohsen Kaedi (shot put & javelin throw), Sajjad Mohammadian (shot put), Alireza Mokhtari (shot put), Jalil Bagheri (shot put), Ali Mohammadyari (discus throw), Sajjad Nikparast (javelin throw), Mohammad Khalvandi (javelin throw), Asadollah Azimi (shot put), Alireza Ghaleh Naseri (discus throw), Ahmad Ojaghloo (100m), Yunes Seifipour (shot put), Abdollah Heydari (javelin throw), Mehran Nekouei Majd (shot put), Hamed Amiri (shot put), Javad Hardani (javelin throw), Mohammad Fathi Ganji (javelin throw), Mohsen Hosseinipanah (shot put), Hashemieh Mottaghian (javelin throw), Batul Jahangiri (shot put)

The athletes earned their spots to Rio in the selection trials on May 7-8 in Tehran’s Aftab Enghelab Stadium, paralympic.ir wrote.
