Iran’s Velayati in Singapore to Attend South Asian Convention
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati arrived in Singapore on Sunday to take part in the third South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC).
Ali Akbar Velayati was received by local authorities, officials in charge of holding the convention, and Iran’s ambassador to Singapore, Javad Ansari, upon arriving in the South Asian country earlier today.
Velayati, who is also an adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on international affairs, will address the South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC) during his two-day visit. He is also scheduled to meet with senior Singaporean officials.
The 3rd South Asian Diaspora Convention (SADC), which will be held on 18-19 July, will see the participation of more than 50 of the region’s leading policymakers and business leaders, academics and civil society leaders, according to a notice on the event’s website.
The speakers will discuss and debate critical topics in business, economy and policy that would affect the region’s future and its role in global geopolitics in the 21st century.
Following his two-day stay in Singapore, Velayati will leave for Kuala Lumpur to hold talks with Malaysia’s senior officials.
