Iranian Security Forces Kill 4, Nab 6 Terrorists in Western Province: Deputy Minister

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari said the country’s security forces have managed to arrest six Takfiri terrorists in clashes in the western province of Kermanshah.

Speaking to reporters in the northern city of Rasht on Tuesday, Zolfaqari said intelligence and police forces have mounted two operations to arrest members of a Takfiri group in two areas in Kermanshah Province since Monday evening.

During the operations, the forces clashed with the Takfiris, killing four and arresting six members of the group, he added.

The security official said one of the terrorist elements killed in the operations was among the top leaders of a Takfiri group in neighboring Iraq.

Earlier on Tuesday, the police chief of Kermanshah Province had said that three armed members of a Takfiri terrorist cell were shot to death by the security forces.

Brigadier General Manouchehr Amanollahi said the terrorists had crossed into Iran to commit acts of sabotage in the country.

The commander also said a Kalashnikov, two magazines and an explosive vest were seized from the terrorists.
