TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh announced that the country put on display a number of state-of-the-art missile systems and military equipment during the nationwide parades on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a large-scale military parade in Tehran on Wednesday, Brigadier General Hajizadeh said during the parade, which was held to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the onset of the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, a number of advanced missiles as well as air defense and radar systems were showcased for the first time.
He added that a long-range surface-to-surface guided missile system named “Emad” with a pinpoint accuracy, and a solid-fuel missile system dubbed “Zolfaqar” with a range of 750 kilometers were among the homegrown systems put on display today.
The commander went on to say that in a simultaneous parade in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, the IRGC’s Sukhoi SU-22 fighters also displayed their combat capabilities.
More than 500 watercraft as well as fighter jets and helicopters took part in the large-scale military parade in Bandar Abbas, which was held under supervision of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy.
