Hungary’s Parliament to Ratify Formation of Joint Commission with Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hungarian lawmakers are going to ratify the formation of a joint economic commission with Iran, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Kover said Saturday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in Tehran, Kover said the move will follow a decision by Tehran and Budapest to establish a joint commission, made during Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s visit to Iran last year.
He also touched on cultural collaborations between the two countries, saying efforts are underway to establish a sister-city relationship between Iran’s historical city of Shiraz and a Hungarian city.
The capitals of the two nations, Tehran and Budapest, were declared sister cities in May 2015.
Heading a parliamentary delegation, Kover arrived in Iran on Thursday. He also held a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Saturday.
