I Have Not Received Offer from Iran: Mauro Berruto

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Former Italy volleyball coach Mauro Berruto said he has not received any offer from the Iranian volleyball federation.

General Secretary of Iran's Volleyball Federation Mahmoud Afshardoost had annonced that Berruto is short-listed for the job of Iranian volleyball team's coach.

Asked whether he is interested in coaching Iran, Berruto said, "Iran is a great National Team and, of course, it could be interesting. It's an honor, but at the moment nothing has happened," Berruto told Tasnim News Agency.

"I had talks with Poland, not yet with Iran. I respect both teams a lot; I really can't say any more," the Italian coach added.

The Iranian volleyball federation has also negotiated with Marcelo Mendez, the Argentinean coach of Brazilian volleyball team Sada Cruzeiro, with Italian coach Andrea Anastasi and Bulgarian Radostin Stoychev in the last few days.
