Iran, Greece Share Views on Many Issues: Diplomat

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for American and European Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi highlighted the abundant opportunities for cooperation with Greece, saying the two countries have common stances on a lot of issues.

In a meeting with Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece George Katrougalos in Tehran on Sunday, Takht Ravanchi hailed the friendly relations between Iran and Greece, pointing to the serious determination for the expansion of political and economic relations.

Highlighting the two countries’ shared views on many subjects, the Iranian diplomat said Tehran-Athens bilateral ties are growing in accordance with a road map the two countries have already signed.

He noted that energy, shipping, medicine and tourism are among grounds for cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Greek diplomat said the European country is ready for various procedures for boosting trade interaction with Iran.

Iran and Greece signed a road map to closer ties in February, during Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ official visit to Tehran with a big economic delegation.
