2 Iranians among 5 Killed in Hotel Fire in Iraq
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A fire ripped through a hotel in Iraq’s holy city of Karbala on Sunday morning, killing five people, including two Iranian pilgrims.
The fire at Qasr al-Mowla hotel in Iraq’s central city of Karbala was reportedly caused by a fault in the electrical wiring.
The fire killed five pilgrims who were staying at the hotel, including two Iranian nationals, and injured 10 others.
The Iranian travelers were in a group of around 120 pilgrims from Iran’s northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi.
The Iraqi city of Karbala, which hosts the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), is a popular destination for Iranian pilgrims.
