Iranian Official Describes Trump as "A Layman with Mistakes"

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi described the new US president as a novice that has made many mistakes so far.

“Trump is a rookie person and a newcomer on political scene and has made many mistakes,” Kharrazi told Tasnim on Saturday.

The official, a former foreign minister, noted that Iran’s policy remains the same regardless of the new US administration, stressing that Tehran stands against the language of force by relying on its people.

His comments came after Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reminded “rookie politicians” in the Middle East and the US that the “language of respect and dignity” is the only manner of treating the Iranian nation.

“We are experiencing conditions in which some novices have come to power in the region, in the world and in the US, as they should all know that they have to talk to the Iranian nation with the language of respect and dignity,” President Rouhani said in an address to people attending huge rallies in Tehran on Friday to mark the 38th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution.
