Iranian Envoy, Ukrainian Education Minister Discuss Academic Ties


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Ambassador to Kiev Mohammad Beheshti Monfared, in a meeting with Ukrainian Minister of Education and Science Liliya Hrynevych, exchanged views about a range of issues, including ways to boost academic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting in Kiev on Tuesday, Monfared raised university admission problems facing students who study Persian-language and called for efforts to resolve them.

He further pointed to the supports provided by the Iranian embassy in Ukraine for the students, including efforts to help them get employed, grant scholarships, and send them to the Islamic Republic for academic courses and conferences.

Earlier on Monday, the Institute for Iran-Eurasia Studies (IRAS) hosted an expert meeting on the bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic and Ukraine.

The expert meeting titled “Iran and Ukraine: 25-Year Diplomatic Relations and the Prospects of Bilateral Ties” was held at the IRAS Conference Center in Tehran.

The event was attended by senior diplomats and political analysts, including Ukraine’s Ambassador to Iran Sergey Burdilyak and former Iranian ambassador to Ukraine Akbar Ghasemi.

During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Tehran and Kiev and ways to boost cooperation in various areas.
