Several Saudi Mercenaries Killed in Yemeni Forces’ Ambush
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni troops managed to kill and injure a number of mercenaries of the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, following an ambush in Yemen’s northern province of al-Jawf, reports said on Sunday.
The Saudi mercenaries were killed in a “unique ambush” by the Yemeni army and Popular Committees near al-Khab and al-Shayif districts north of Jawf province, Lebanon’s Arabic-language Al Mayadeen reported.
In another development, Yemeni forces mounted several attacks on the positions of the Saudi-led coalition forces in Saudi Arabia’s Najran province
Severe clashes also erupted between Yemeni forces and mercenaries of Hadi in Taiz province with the two sides deploying medium and heavy weapons.
The attacks against Saudi mercenaries came in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians and destruction of Yemen’s infrastructure by a coalition led by the Saudi regime.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for nearly two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Hadi.
Nearly 11,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
