UK's Johnson Cancels Moscow Visit after Developments in Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Britain's foreign minister Boris Johnson said Saturday he had cancelled a visit to Moscow due to take place on April 10 after developments in Syria where United States launched a missile strike in retaliation for allegations on a gas attack.

"Developments in Syria have changed the situation fundamentally," Johnson said in a statement, Reuters reported.

"My priority is now to continue contact with the US and others in the run-up to the G7 meeting on 10-11 April - to build coordinated international support for a ceasefire on the ground and an intensified political process."

The US military attacked the Syrian government’s Shayrat Airfield near Homs with 59 tomahawk missiles on Friday.
