Iran’s Sea Borders Patrolled by IRGC Vessels 24/7: Commander
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy protects Iran’s maritime borders in the southern waters against the US and its allies with 100 military vessels every day, commander of the force said.
In a meeting with a top Iranian cleric in the city of Qom on Wednesday, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said his forces are fully ready to counter any foreign threat.
“Every day, 100 light and heavy vessels in the country’s border waters are prepared all the time for defense against the US and its regional allies,” the general said.
Highlighting the IRGC Navy’s capabilities in the Persian Gulf, the commander added, “The US admits today that it is incapable of dealing with the Iranian Navy’s military power.”
Last year, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei hammered the US for its schemes against Iran’s military presence in the Persian Gulf and made it clear that the Islamic Republic will continue to demonstrate power at its home, the Persian Gulf.
“The Persian Gulf is the Iranian nation’s home…, and the coasts of the Persian Gulf and large parts of the Sea of Oman coasts belong to this strong nation,” Imam Khamenei said in May 2016.
