Plan Approved for Public’s Participation in Security Development: Iranian Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Hossein Zolfaqari said the country’s Security Council has approved a plan on the people’s contribution to the development of public order.

Speaking at a meeting with the country’s deputy governor-generals for political, security and social affairs in Tehran on Monday, Zolfaqari underlined that the Iranian people are “sensitive about their security”.

“The sensitivity provides great capacity for improving the country’s security and order,” he said, adding, “People always help us in providing security, but we should organize the contributions anyway.”

Accordingly, the official noted, a plan on people’s participation in the development of security has been drafted and approved by the country’s Security Council.

He went on to say that the meeting with the deputy governor-generals is being held to coordinate the implementation of the plan.

Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.

In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.

“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
