Turkey’s Top General Due in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Chief of the General Staff of Turkey Hulusi Akar will pay a visit to Iran in the near future, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Monday, General Baqeri said the upcoming visit will take place to “complete and conclude the negotiations” held during his recent official visit to Turkey.
The top commander also noted that Iran and Turkey reached good agreements on border issues, as well as the conditions in Syria and Iraq, during his visit to Turkey.
Heading a military delegation, Major General Baqeri visited Turkey last week and held meetings with top Turkish officials, including President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and General Hulusi Akar.
His talks with Turkish officials revolved around Tehran-Ankara defense ties, regional developments, cooperation on border affairs, and the fight against terrorism.
