Iran, Oman Move to Strengthen Links


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s foreign minister and the Sultan of Oman discussed a range of issues in a meeting in Muscat and called for efforts to enhance relations between the two Muslim nations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said in Muscat on Monday evening.

The two sides held talks about the bilateral and regional issues, and also stressed the need for the expansion of Tehran-Muscat relations in all fields.

Hailing the strong bonds between the two neighbors, the visiting Iranian minister praised Oman for its constructive role in the region and the Omani leader for his prudent policies on the regional affairs.

Zarif arrived in Oman on Monday morning for a one-day visit and held a meeting with the sultanate’s Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

He left Muscat for Qatar’s capital of Doha on Monday night.
